Poetic License Sonoma, a group of poets, read each quarter at Sebastopol Center for the Arts Fourth Tuesday Zoom Poetry Series. Though often a solitary pursuit, the writing of poetry, like all artistic forms of communication, is nurtured through the collaboration and support of others. They encourage and celebrate this form of artistry in our region, and beyond, through poetry readings, like this one; the publication of their work; and a steady stream of new writing.
Jennifer Jean
Jennifer Jean’s poetry collections include VOZ, Object Lesson, and The Fool. Her resource book is Object Lesson: a Guide to Writing Poetry. She’s co-written and co-translated Where Do You Live? أين تعيش؟ (Arrowsmith Press, 2025) with Iraqi poet Dr. Hanaa Ahmed. Her work appears in POETRY, Rattle, The Common, Los Angeles Review, and On the Seawall. She’s received honors, residencies, and fellowships from the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, the Academy of American Poets, the Mass Cultural Council, DISQUIET, and the Women’s Federation for World Peace. Jennifer is an organizer for the Her Story Is collective, host of the Wilder Words reading series, and senior program manager of 24PearlStreet, the Fine Arts Work Center’s online writing program.
