Marguerite
Continues to Affect Me. It has been almost 22 years since Marguerite
passed away, and she is still affecting me. I think of her when
I am working she encourages me to try something new, then to expand
the idea... Are the forms good, the negative shapes working, the
size shape relationships in proportion? Surface, marks, placement,
there is so much to consider. And the minutest change can make a
profound difference. Working and living with total consciousness
was deeply impressed on me by her. She warned us to not concern
ourselves with what others say about our work. Techniques, should
not to be confused with creativity. All of these truisms guide me
in my life and work. Marguerite encouraged my husband, Wayne Reynolds
and I to buy a property where we could live, work, show and sell
our pieces, so we would not be dependent on shops and galleries.
She felt that was essential for continued creativity. Consequently
we have our own place in Santa Rosa on Sonoma Hwy 12, Valley of
the Moon Pottery, North Eagle Gallery. Thank you, Marguerite.
