In the "do your own thing" milieu of the 1970s, Marguerite was a rare pillar of dedication and conviction. Her unfailing commitment to engage her art with all of herself, as a way of living, was my model as I came of age. Even as my "craft" has changed, I still credit her for teaching me discipline and a commitment to values. Few dare to be masters, and I'm thankful that she was, unabashedly so.
