Marguerite was the embodiment of a purposeful life dedicated to a personal vision of beauty, integrity and uncompromising standards of artisanship. Always seeing beneath the surface of things, she instilled in her students an appreciation for the truth and beauty of nature - the source of creative ideas. Marguerite saved my life or more precisely, she saved my spirit. Looking directly into my nineteen-year-old soul, she saw that I was unfocused, undisciplined, unthinking and headed for trouble. Her example, her expectations and her belief in me provided the nourishment to my artistic spirit and these gifts remain at the core of my being.
