Sculpture Jam IX - Peace Columns

October 6 - 8, 2006 SCA presents the 9th annual "Sculpture Jam" a three-day event to create public art. Sculpture Jam is the serious, but fun idea of sculptor, Warren Arnold to create a multi-day event at which sculptors work in varying mediums at a site open to the general public. The theme this year is "Peace Columns" and 20+ sculptors have divided into smaller groups to produce individual sculptures. Finished pieces will be displayed at public sites throughout the city. Materials, equipment and labor for the sculptures are donated by local sources and the sculptors.

Activity for Sculpture Jam begins with the artists sorting materials on Friday from Noon to 4:00 p.m. The Jam itself, takes place from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. The public is enthusiastically encouraged to attend each day's progression to completion.
