Gallery Docent: Gallery Docents volunteer 3-4 hour-long shifts once a month or more depending upon your time schedule and preference. Timeslots are as follows: Weekday morning shift-10:00 am-1:30 pm; Weekday afternoon shift-1:30-5:00 pm; Saturday & Sunday afternoon shift-1:00-4:00 pm
- This very important volunteer position acts as a primary interface with the public. Docents greet gallery visitors, facilitate gallery art and event ticket sales, discuss the exhibit, and answer questions about the exhibit and other Center activities. Optional: assist SCA staff with occasional clerical duties such as mailings, calls, etc.
- Docent Training/Luncheons prepare docents to interact with the public with up-to-date details about each new exhibit and current activity at the Center. This wonderfully social time includes a themed potluck lunch followed by presentations by exhibiting artists and SCA staff. Learn the fascinating stories behind the artwork on display meet and visit with fellow docents and artists, and enjoy a delicious lunch in a lovely gallery setting. Docent Training/Luncheons are scheduled from 1:00-3:00 pm the first Monday after the opening of each new exhibit. Newcomers are our guests and do not need to bring a potluck item. Call SCA for training/luncheon dates and to let us know that you will be attending.
Music Committee Member : Meets 10:30 am the first and third Wednesday of each month
Join this very enthusiastic and active group of musicians and music aficionados in planning concerts and other music-related activities at the Center throughout the year.

Literary Arts Council Member : Meets the third Wednesday of each month
Participate in one of the most diverse and exciting literary programs in Sonoma County. LAC members design and coordinate writing contests, classes, readings and performances, and generally promote literary arts for writers of all ages
- Set up and take down tables, chairs, sound system and refreshments for readings, classes, etc.
- Greeting, registration and ticket collection at event
- Publicity for literary events and activities
Visual Arts Committee : Meets the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30 am
For those who enjoy the hands-on activity of presenting gallery exhibits. The Committee helps produce 5 to 6 juried shows and 1 members show per year, as well as selecting artists for the Gallery II program. They decide exhibit themes, design and review printed material, and coordinate various phases of the exhibit process.
- Take-in artwork for new exhibits
- Assist exhibit coordinators install and take down gallery exhibit
- Provide hospitality at receptions: set up and cleanup, pour beverages
- Help with related special events: ticket sales, set up and take down chairs, stages, etc.

Education Program Assistant : Available on call or for regularly scheduled projects
Sebastopol Center for the Arts offers one of the most comprehensive arts education programs in Northern California, serving thousands of children, teens and adults each year with classes in the visual, performing and literary arts. Education Program volunteers assist the education program manager with studio operations, publicity, and clerical projects.

- Special class and workshop setup, cleanup and attendance

Our busy facility always needs a hand with building operations. Share your skills with tools, construction, cleaning, paint touchup, and space organizing for occasional or regular projects.
- Repairs and maintenance
