UPCOMING GALLERY EXHIBITION

REVERBERATIONS 2024

A PRE-EMINENT ART+ POETRY EXHIBITION
THE SEBASTOPOL CENTER FOR THE ARTS GALLERY
JUN 21 - AUG 10, 2024

Reverberations 2024 brings together 56 rarely seen works of art from the homes of private collectors and Bay Area institutions, curated as a wide-ranging visual conversation among artists from the 20th century — Edward Hopper, Richard Diebenkorn, Willem de Kooning, Lucian Freud, Fernand Léger, Ruth Bernhard, Wayne Thiebaud, Ed Ruscha, Sonia Delaunay, and Hung Liu — to contemporary working artists including Saif Azzuz, Maria de los Angeles, Enrique Chagoya, Elizabeth Peyton, Ramekon O’Arwisters, Alicia McCarthy, and Emilio Villalba.

Ekphrasis — written or verbal response to a work of art — can awaken a poet’s own experience and perception into language transcending description. The radical vision of SebArts is to open that conversation into language, inviting 56 poets to respond to the works with a poem. Exhibited side by side in our gallery, they offer an intimate adventure into realms of visual art and poetry.
